G L A D I A . S E V E N . L A W S O N dance alone in the light of day[/center] Dia was lying at the edge of the Timepool, half-awake and half-dreaming. She wanted to dive into history - she always wanted to dive into history - she was just wondering whether she ought to do any of those boring things like eating or sleeping first. A more sensible cat probably would, she mused, but she'd always managed being her crazy quirky self. The real question was not one that required an answer. This was a question of sheer early-morning apathy, and it was desperately trying to avoid finding an answer. She made for an elegant sight, silver-and-gold she-cat sprawled next to the pool as it shimmered in what tiny light there was, her tail trailing in the water forming ripples. Her eyes, when she blinked them as if trying to stay awake with a delightful kind of laziness that seemed to indicate quite the opposite, were pale blue mirrors of the pool itself. As illusions flashed in the water, Dia watched them with half her eyes, the rest of her away in some other world. It quite ruined the effect when her stomach rumbled. She yawned. It might be nice to find somebody to dive into history with. It was always nice to find out mysterious secrets and pursue her interests and add to the lore of the Timekeepers, all by herself with nobody else to answer to, but it was a bit boring and lonely when she wanted to discuss all her amazing mysterious secrets and she realised she had nobody else to discuss them with. That settled it, then; she was waiting for somebody else to journey into Time with. Her question happily postponed, she settled down for a little more dreaming. OOC: Sorry, I have no muse right now for either RPing or graphicking, so I have no table for Dia yet, and the post is a giant fail.

Lostia smiled to herself as her paws treaded over the damp floor. Finally, she had finished eating and could go to the Timepool. She had been looking forward to this all day; Lostia would spend every minute of her life at the Timepool if she could. Lostia smiled as she reached her destination. Finally, she could go back to the past. She slowed her step a little; there was something about lengthing the time of anticipation that made the reward feel so much better. Suddenly, she saw a small dark grey cat lying by the pool. Would she have to make conversation? Lostia sighed. She had been looking forward to having a vision so much and now it looked like she would have to wait for even longer. "Greetings, Gladia" she said as she reached the cat.
(OOC: That´s fine. Ugh, "as she reached her destination" sounds like she´s getting off a plane, but I couldn´t think of how else to put it xD)

Gladia clambered to her feet as she spotted the other cat. "And to you, Lostia," she replied, giving her the casual nod of one Noble to another. "I would ask what brings you here, but I think I can answer my own question. I love it too, the chance to find out everything that happened, piece together bits of puzzles and put together your answer." She settled down again into a sitting position, upright this time, with her tail wrapped neatly around her paws. Her grey-and-gold fur was messy, but then, her fur was often messy. Her eyes skimmed over Lostia and then alighted on the pool, which sparkled faintly in the little light there was. "It's beautiful, isn't it?" she murmured quietly, almost without meaning to speak aloud. Magic. There was no other words for it; Dia knew the theories and the questions and the beliefs, she knew the ways they tried to explain it or work it out or understand it, but to her it would always be magic. It had her mesmerised. She wondered if Lostia would like to go into history with her. It was usual - almost traditional - for the Nobles to be rivals; perhaps she intended to uphold that tradition. Gladia was a rather new Noble, though, and she hoped not. She'd never had much time for politics. And she wanted to go into history with somebody else. She needed a little help with a historical problem she was having, working out events from the fractured few visions that she had, and it would be nice to have some company.

Lostia smiled. "Yes, it is." The Timepool was in a cave and Lostia had always found the dark, grey walls and the trickling water calming and peaceful. The pools itself really was beautiful. It shimmered and changed as the day went on; it went from dark and wild over blue and calm to a strange, enigmatic glowing turquoise. Lostia still didn´t understand how the pool worked and why it gave the cats visions, but she had a feeling that she never would. At times, she had wondered whether the visions weren´t simply dreams and didn´t show real events, but there was so much evidence to the contrary and all the visions seemed to fit together so perfectly that she had quickly dismissed that idea. Instead she had contented herself by imagining the pool as some strange force that carried all the secrets of the past, present and future within it. When the cats had found it, it had finally found a chance to spill its wisdom. This theory made the pool sound like a living, thinking-animal?-, but it was the best explanation that Lostia had been able to find. She looked at Gladia closely. She seemed to understand that wonderful feeling of piecing history together. Maybe she should ask her to time-travel with her. After all, it might be good to get another cat´s opinion on historical events. She wondered if Gladia was only here for pleasure or if she had a concrete goal that she wanted to research. Maybe she needed help. "So, what brings you here? Any historical problem in particular?"

Gladia smiled at Lostia's question. "Yes, actually. I've been researching the Four Olden Clans. An overdone topic, I know, but I love those stories." It was the duty of the Timekeepers to be curious, to try and find truths within history. Gladia had been wanting to construct the story of the forest Clans for quite a while. It was her current project, and had been for two months now, one she couldn't quite straighten out. Once she had the whole story, she could make it into a tale to tell, to keep each bit of history alive, as was Timekeeper tradition. "I've been trying to make a story out of their journey. We know they were founded and lived for years in a forest. We also know that when they were destroyed it was by the lake. At some point, probably during the time of the famous Firestar, they had to make a journey. What I want to know is why there are rogue groups in that forest now, and four new Clans around the lake now - some say even right above the tunnels where we live. What happened? Why did they go, and how, and when?" Gladia was tempted to go on - she could wax lyrical about her stories and her projects - but she was reluctant to share the story's intricate and confusing detail with another Timekeeper, especially a Noble. Story-stealing was uncommon but not unheard of, and Nobles were supposed to be sort of rivals, even if Lostia was being friendly. And besides that, she did not want to look weak, and she was a little ashamed of her inability to make any sense of this. But if Lostia agreed to help her with it, then they could share the story. Gladia would tell her the details she knew, they could venture into history together, and then present the story with both their names at the Storytelling. ((Check out the post I have in Ceremonies and Traditions <3 If they're heading into the Timepool then we might want to do some sort of ceremony ))
