Does ANYYYONE have ANYY tips at ALL for memorizing Chinese characters? I have 8 pages of them to remember... I know most of them already, but... *sniff*
I hate Chinese class.

I think of them like pictures... not that I've got that far into learning Chinese yet XD. I only know ni, wo, hen, hao, and ma (because those are the ones that make up 'Ni hao', 'Ni hao ma' and 'Wo hen hao'). But I think of them like pictures... so I think of Wo as one of those Chinese gates, with four little flags around the top bit. And Ni is a flag, stuck into the ground, next to a person with a really weird shaped head. And then I connect the pictures to the meaning... like 'I am going through the weird gate with four flags on'. Then instead of memorising the picture (which to me is crazy difficult, I remember words better than pictures) I remember the sentence 'I am going through the weird gate with four flags on', 'you, you there with the weird shaped head, you dropped your flag, it's stuck next to you in the ground'. Etc etc.
That's my technique. It's probably hopeless for you but it works for me. *shrug*

*blink* Something tells me that it'll be a tad... tough with 9 pages of characters to memorize. *groan* I managed it all by cramming in the end though...

Cramming is awesome. Good luck with the tests! Tell us how you do
