Accepting a profile is a lot more work than just saying "Accepted". If you, a staff member, accept a profile, PLEASE do all the other things listed below as well, rather than leaving a mess for me to clear up later.
Members can't accept profiles. Only staff can do that.
1. BEFORE YOU ACCEPT A PROFILE, please check it obeys all the rules and has enough detail. Each profile NEEDS something in ALL the sections. If you accept a profile which isn't good enough, I can't go back to them and say, "Sorry, I know we said your profile was accepted but it's not good enough so I'm un-accepting it." If you do that, we're stuck with it.
Some guidelines for what is 'enough detail':
Appearance: fur colour, eye colour, size, and build (fat or thin, muscular or weedy) are all described, or at least there's SOMETHING in there which tells you about all of those things.
Physical Strengths & Mental Strengths: At least 2 different things listed
Physical Weaknesses: Equal to or greater than the number of Physical Strengths
Mental Weaknesses: Equal to or greater than the number of Mental Strengths
Personality: At least 5 different things mentioned and described. It's not enough to say "cocky, fun-loving, friendly, fiery, defiant" - you need descriptions of each one. For example:
"He is very cocky and believes that he is better than everybody else, and finds it difficult to accept when he is wrong. However, he's still nice to be with, and is really fun-loving, always ready with a joke and a smile and ALWAYS up for a game. He's friendly to everybody and doesn't hold it against them that he's so much better than them. Under this normal, friendly, fun-loving nature, though, he's fiery; he's a spirited and brave cat who fights for what he believes in. He's defiant and doesn't let anybody tell him what to do- even his Clan leader, which gets him in a lot of trouble!"
Also, don't accept perfect characters or Mary Sues. Insist that they be given acceptable weaknesses. A weakness of 'doesn't like the colour blue, which can cause arguments' isn't a real weakness. Neither is 'so-and-so can't wiggle his ears'. They have to be real weaknesses, which cause real problems. Not being able to swim can seem like a real weakness, but as most cats can't swim, it's really just a perfectly normal trait. Don't make them remove it, but ask that they give the cat another weakness.
Make sure the cat doesn't have a high rank which they don't actually have listed.
Once you've checked all of this, THEN you can give the cat the OK. Don't just look over a profile, see that it's finished and accept it. You actually have to make sure it obeys the rules.
2. Once you've accepted somebody, make sure they posted it with the account they're going to play the cat on. If they haven't, make sure they create an account with that cat's name and gender to play the cat with. Once they've got an account for that cat, go to the account, go Modify Profile, and put them in the User Group of their Clan, and give them a Custom Title of their rank. So a DawnClan Apprentice should be put in the User Group DawnClan and have the Custom Title of Apprentice.
3. If they created an Encouraged kind of cat, give them their CC.
4. Go to the Clan Boards board, and in their Clan's thread, ADD THEM TO THE LIST.
5. PM them their Clan board's password.
6. Move their profile thread into Accepted Profiles.
7. Right. NOW you can get onto that next profile.
