'F A L L I N G . E R A is an alternate universe RPG set many years after the events described in the Warriors series. The AU departs from established storylines about half a moon after the end of Night Whispers.
FOREVERCLAN
ForeverClan believe that what is now, will be forever. They believe all hope is lost; they cannot change what is meant to be. They accept and obey the Higher Cats, but they never volunteer to be recruited into their ranks. Whilst they have given up, they believe in making the best of what they've got, and try and live their lives as best they can. They are dismissive of the other clans; to them, those that befriend the Higher Cats are traitors, whilst those who try and keep hope are foolish. Perhaps they are right; for this Clan has the highest survival rate of all the Clans...
ForeverClan cats are stoic and strong, true survivors. They accept what happens and try to make the best of it.
ForeverClan cats' strengths: Logical, sensible, tall, strong, resourceful, can take hits, humble, loyal, adapt easily
NEVERCLAN
This Clan was formed by a group of cats who wished to try and get along with the Higher Cats and bring them around to the warrior code's point of view. Unfortunately, the Higher Cats corrupted this pure motive, and now NeverClan are a group of cats who support the Higher Cats fully and completely. Many volunteer to be recruited as Higher Cat warriors, and they obey the Higher Cats willingly. They are fierce fighters, with some of the skills, quick reflexes, cunning and techniques of the Higher Cats.
NeverClan cats' strengths: ruthless, tough, fast reflexes, cunning, skilful at fighting, unlikely to be killed by Higher Cats, will survive anything
DAWNCLAN
DawnClan is a Clan of cats which harbours a secret dream; to overthrow the Higher Cats. Their territory is right at the edge of Higher Cat land, and the DawnClan cats consider it to extend into a portion of forest outside of the Higher Cats' view altogether; their warriors often make forays out where the Higher Cats cannot see and claim they were hunting to the Higher Cats. In fact, they are training and planning for, one day... a rebellion. More than once the Higher Cats have grown suspicious and killed cats of this Clan; there have been many massacres in its history. But above all, DawnClan is the Clan of hope and courage, and no matter how many cats from this Clan die terrible deaths, they will never give up.
DawnClan cats' strengths: fast, agile, intelligent, calm in a crisis, brave, optimistic, determined
DUSKCLAN
DuskClan is the Clan of peace; for what is more peaceful than a quiet, calm, dark sunset? DuskClan is a clever clan; they keep out of the way of the Higher Cats, running or hiding when they see one, keeping quiet and out of the other Clans' way, and on the few occasions the Higher Cats take notice, healing the wounds afterwards. They move their camp often in an attempt to stay out of notice. In their seclusion, they have acquired some odd traditions and their ceremonies and ranks differ greatly from the norm; but they have also developed incredible healing skills, with two medicine cats instead of one, each of whom carries a herblore unmatched by any other cat from any other Clan- and this is only part of DuskClan's knowledge. Some lies forgotten, to be remembered when a lucky apprentice uncovers a rare herb at the back of the den, or if it is needed... they can always ask the Timekeepers. For these are the only Clan cats who know about the Timekeepers and are in contact with them. They have a unique style for hunting and fighting, the practice of which makes them graceful and elegant.
DuskClan cats' strengths: Stealthy, patient, calm, good knowledge of basic medicine, philosophical, graceful
THE TRIBE OF ONCE AND AGAIN
The Tribe was once; and it will be again. These cats were more recently conquered and the Higher Cats are especially harsh on them, forcing them to conform to a Clan system with a leader, deputy, medicine cat and warriors; the Higher Cats had overextended themselves conquering the mountains, and now only own the very outskirts of the rocky territory. This is how the Tribe is forced to live, stripped of its traditions and forced into an alien culture, ruled over by overlords from the Dark Forest, and patrolling a territory that consists only of the barren edge of the mountains. They live in fear and despair; some have given up hope, some retain it. They often fight among themselves over what to do, for none are really decided; all they know is that, if the Tribe of Endless Hunting ever really existed... it was once, and it will be again.
Tribe cats' strengths: Fiercely loyal to and protective of their Tribe; hardy, agile, dutiful, honourable, able to survive in the mountains
THE TIMEKEEPERS
When a small group of loners discovered the Time Pool a hundred years ago, they did not think it was anything special. To them, it was merely a small pool of silvery water, rippled by a breeze that was not there. But when they drank from it, they saw visions from the past and the future, and that taught them that this was no regular pool.
Their culture has grown up around the Time Pool; they rank their members based on their knowledge of the past and future, and spend their days wandering amongst their visions. It is their dream to discover a way to actually travel to the past, rather than simply having visions of it.
If a Clan or Tribe cat visits the Time Pool, they can have dreams from back in time- a time when StarClan and the Tribe of Endless Hunting still existed. It is the only way for them to communicate with their warrior ancestors- but the Timekeepers seldom allow outsiders into their precious Pool.
The stars are gone now.
We do not know what happened. The stars have been gone for years- only the elders remember them.
The stories they tell are of glittering spirits who once watched over us- StarClan. They tell of a time when a dark era came for the Clans, and a war between the Higher Cats and StarClan threatened. Then one day... the stars simply blinked out, one by one.
The Higher Cats- you may know them by the name dark forest cats- do not like us to speak of this story. They do not even boast among themselves of their victory over StarClan. We are forbidden to speak of it. But how else can we understand how the four golden Clans came to... what we are today?
ThunderClan was the first to fall, for all their supposed honour. Our other ancestors betrayed their code when they knew that StarClan was gone, instead watching and waiting for when the Dark Forest fell to reclaim their honour. ThunderClan wanted to preserve the code, to keep fighting even without the leadership of the stars. They were foolish. The Higher Cats crushed them.
RiverClan were the next to go. They were so arrogant, believing their river would protect them. Did they not know that the cats of the Dark Forest could simply float over their river like angels of destruction? They ignored what was happening, withdrew into their territory and tried to carry on. The Higher Cats crushed them.
WindClan fell next. Those cats have always had a strong belief in StarClan, closest to the stars in their high hills. Onestar, the leader of the time, had decided to surrender to the Higher Cats and wait for them to fall. It was the only way for WindClan to survive- and when the Higher Cats were gone, they could follow the code again. But Onestar was overthrown by his Clan. They had lost their pride, and with the code gone, pride was all they had. They wanted the blood of the Higher Cats, no matter what it cost them- and it cost them everything. The Higher Cats crushed them.
ShadowClan hung on until the very end; those cats have always had an instinct for survival. They were clever; they pretended to obey the Higher Cats, pretended to work with them so that one day, when they were stronger and had agents even in the very heart of the enemy, they could strike back. But even ShadowClan's weaknesses include compassion; when the Higher Cats threatened ShadowClan's kits, what could they do but try and fight, even when they were doomed? The Higher Cats crushed them.
It took a while for the Higher Cats to extend their territory to the mountains; but when they did, the Tribe of Endless Hunting did not stand a chance. The Higher Cats crushed them, and with that completed their conquest. They reigned over all the territory from the mountains to the lake. The stars are gone now, and who knows if they will return?
Many years passed, and new Clans formed, Clans more suited to the new world order. They have lost everything; their pride, their code and even the stars that guided them. But they are still alive. The Higher Cats can take all that they have; but they cannot take their spirits.
