Don't ask Renen about The Hunger Games. Please. For all our sanity.[M:50]
The Hunger Games is SO much better than Harry Potter.

When you guys are a bad mood, does anyone else think "Oh, I should probably listen to a happy song to cheer myself up" but then you end up torturing yourselves with super-depressing songs?
Maybe it's just me. I dunno.

When I feel depressed I go and do something online and feel a lot better afterwards.

I actually do the same thing, but for different reasons....
If a death scene in a book is written all tragically, then it makes sense and you like the book. ("The moon glittered, unfriendly and cold, in the dark sky. She closed her eyes and took her final breath. He let out a howl. No, you can't be dead!" That kind of stuff.)
If the death scene is written like, "The sun shone down cheerily. She closed her eyes and took her final breath. Funky music played in the background. He let out an awesome howl of awesomeness that should, like, totally be in a movie. No, you can't be dead!" It wouldn't make sense.
Similarly, if a low point in your life is accompanied by sad music, then it makes sense. If it's accompanied with happy music, it doesn't actually cheer you up, it just makes you feel all weird because half of you is listening to the happy music and the other half is feeling all depressed and those two don't make sense together. Incongruity.
Me, I take a compromise and listen to sad-but-uplifting music. For some reason I find Skinny Love uplifting, even though the lyrics are totally not. Love Will Find A Way (Lion King II) is good because it's sorta calm and slow, so suits the sad mood and doesn't make you feel weird, but it's also sorta uplifting and the lyrics are hopeful.
And I go do something fun on the internet (like reply to RP threads) and cheer myself up.
