You may have noticed that our site's plot is based around a world in which StarClan lost the war against the Dark Forest, and the warriors are living under the rule of the Dark Forest cats, who now insist that they be called Higher Cats. ForeverClan put up with it, NeverClan support the Higher Cats, DawnClan secretly plan to rebel, DuskClan hide, the Tribe are rather busy surviving with being forced out of their natural environment, and the Timekeepers know very little about all of this.
What we have here at Falling Era is actually a lot darker than the Warriors books and it's entirely possible the 'good guys' may not win. It's entirely in your hands. And you're going to do stuff.
Did you imagine for a second all the characters would just sit around and moan about Higher Cat rule? DawnClan plan to rebel, and one day, maybe they will. Maybe the Higher Cats will wipe them out. Maybe DuskClan will fall under the control of an evil dictator, who will take them all into battle, where they'll be destroyed because DuskClan, let's face it, isn't a Clan which is really ideal for battles. Maybe ForeverClan will join one side or the other. Maybe NeverClan will get so ambitious and dark-hearted they'll forget they like the Higher Cats, kill Tigerstar and claim rule for themselves. Maybe none of this will happen. Maybe Wrenstar will become corrupted and DawnClan will become evil, which will spur an outraged group of rogues to take over DawnClan's dream. Maybe DuskClan and ForeverClan will start a war with each other for no reason whatsoever. Maybe Tigerclaw will fall in love with a chicken.
Really, the possibilities are endless, but RP isn't about all the characters sitting around and moaning about the plots, is it? No, Falling Era is destined for epic wars.
Enter the Plot Points.
Every so often, things will look ripe for a big development. What it is will probably depend on what all of your characters are doing and feeling. Huge things won't happen quickly- it'll probably build up to a crescendo, though you never know when a big event and surprise will appear on your doorstop.
It could be anything from a DawnClan rebellion to DuskClan getting wiped out to BloodClan forming to a gigantic flood swamping all the lakeside territories to whatever you like. What will happen is a secret known only by the admin, me; not even the other staff know. Everything's going to come as a complete surprise, unless you are a particularly intelligent and perceptive kitty and correctly guess what's about to happen. You're welcome to guess and make theories in the plot board. It might even influence me. I'll probably do the exact opposite, though!
Hang on, some of you may be thinking; won't we need characters for all of this? If I want a horrible plague of greencough, won't I need a character to discover the cure, or fall ill first? And all of this stuff can't happen exclusively to my characters. That would be selfish of me, and no fun, and pointless.
Thus I come to the most important thing. All of this happens to YOUR characters. Whatever huge event is about to happen, your characters have a chance to be involved!
First of all, you need to fill in the form at the bottom of this thread, signing up your characters. Then, when I need a character to discover a cure for a horrible plague, or suggest a DawnClan rebellion, or die, I'll take a character from among the people who have signed up and I'll PM the RPer, explaining vaguely what I want to happen to the character. I won't tell you exactly what will happen to them- after all, that would spoil the surprise- but I'll include a warning if your character is going to be dying, having kits, getting seriously injured, or anything else that you might not necessarily want to happen to your poor charrie.
If the character's RPer agrees, they are then locked into the plot and cannot go back. If you don't want this, don't agree. When all the characters I need have agreed (if you don't agree within a week, I find somebody else), I start the plot. When your character's involvement is needed, I will PM you and inform you of this, and tell you what your character needs to do and in which thread. Then you'll do that and everybody else will go "WHAT ON EARTH? I didn't expect that!"
It ought to be lots of fun.
A few things;
Right! Now we've got all that over with, here's the sign-up form.

It ought to be lots of fun.
A few things;
- Characters will be selected based on how fit they are for the role. If I need somebody to discover a herb, I'll most likely pick a medicine cat or medicine apprentice who lives near to where the herb lives. If I need somebody to suggest a DaC rebellion, I'll pick a highly-ranked Dawnie. If I need somebody to assassinate Tigerstar, I'll pick a cat who's good at fighting and doesn't like the Higher Cats. And so on.
- Begging me to include your character in a plot will get you nowhere. Asking politely might get you somewhere, if your character is good for an open role.
- Please don't get mad over your character not being given a major role in a plot point. I appreciate that you too have a right to be involved, but sometimes other peoples' characters are better for the roles and that's that.
- If a few people seem to be getting almost no involvement in Plot Points, and they are upset about it, then they are allowed to PM me asking what kind of characters are needed for the next Plot Point planned, and I'll reply with a character I need, and they can make it so they get involved.
- Even if your character isn't selected for a special role, they are always welcome to take part in the Plot Points! Plot Points are for the whole site. To use the unusual-greencough-strain-plague example again, your character may not be chosen for a major role like first to get sick or discoverer of the cure, but they can still become ill, or be worried over a friend becoming ill, or even try unsuccessfully to quest for the cure- maybe the person who has been chosen to find the cure will let your character join them on their quest!
- All details of Plot Points are supposed to be secret, so that they're a surprise. It also makes it more realistic- to use the example of somebody assassinating Tigerstar, let's say we get Tigerstar's RPer to RP Tigerstar seeing somebody sneaking around and then looks up and gets hit from behind and dies. Then, ICly, everybody wants to know who the assassin is. Now let's think- if a Higher Cat's RPer wants their cat to avenge Tigerstar and everybody knows who was the assassin, then it's very tempting to god-mode and have the character suspect and execute the assassin. If nobody knows who the assassin is except the assassin, it creates a real sense of suspense and mystery, and it's a big surprise when we find out. It allows for, OOCly and ICly, false accusations and guessing and suspense and lots of other fun.
- The above means that nobody is allowed to give away their role in the plot. If you've just accepted a role in a Plot Point, you are not allowed to tell anybody. Not even your best friend via PM. Not even if you leave out which role you've been given. You're not allowed to tell. The idea is that it's a surprise and suspenseful and fun for all.
Right! Now we've got all that over with, here's the sign-up form.
